Kanye Was Meant to Be on Drake's "Nice for What," According to Ebro

Release it!

There's yet another layer to this whole Drake v. Kanye West/Pusha-T thing tucked neatly into a recent Ebro in the Morning upload.

Around the 10:30 mark in the video below, Open Late's own Peter Rosenberg brought up the fact that Kanye and Drake were not so long ago reported to have hit the studio together. According to Ebro Darden's sources, however, those sessions didn't go as planned. "I'm told when [Drake] left Wyoming or wherever, he started calling around looking for beats," he said. "He was calling people looking for beats, like 'Yo I need some records.'" Producers, Darden added, were confused by Drake's request given the fact that he had just worked with a proven master of beats.

After theorizing that there could have been either some sort of disagreement or just a failure to accomplish their goals together in the studio, Darden continued: "Supposedly, Kanye was supposed to be on 'Nice for What' or there's a version of 'Nice for What' with Kanye that we may never hear," he said.

Speaking of "Nice for What," the track just returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending two weeks away thanks to Childish Gambino's "This Is America."
