When we told you Juice WRLD was about to blow up, we weren’t kidding—the Chicago rapper hopped on Instagram Live and shared a few seconds of a “Lucid Dreams” remix featuring Lil Uzi Vert. While this is a pretty big deal for the young artist and a huge collaboration to grab so early his career, it makes complete sense if you’ve been following Juice WRLD’s latest developments.

It was only three months ago that we reported on the 19-year-old genre-fusing artist from Calumet Park, who began his career with uploads to Soundcloud and got his stage name from Tupac’s character in the movie of the same name. He then had Cole Bennett direct the “All Girls Are The Same” music video, racked up millions of plays, and collaborated with Ski Mask The Slump God. Two weeks ago we heard the up-and-comer had signed a $3 million deal with Interscope—which would explain the Uzi collab. Essentially, this dude is blowing up, and Uzi jumping on a “Lucid Dreams” remix is only going to add fuel to the fire.

“I’m so in love with that girl, I got the juice in this world,” Uzi sings. Having these two talented genre-blending artists on the same track together makes absolute sonic sense, as they’re both part of a young generation of rappers that defy categorization, and want to express themselves emotionally while still having fun and making engaging music. Uzi’s voice on here matches the tone completely, and we’ll hopefully get to hear more of it soon.
