Tobi Lou's excellent Glassface-directed video for his new single "TROOP" is putting up big numbers on YouTube, and he keeps that momentum going today with the release of more breezy, melodic hip-hop on five-song EP tobi lou and the Loop.
Following the announcement that his debut album will be executive produced by No I.D., this EP continues the Chicago rapper's tobi lou and the… series. Throughout the five songs, Tobi builds on the playful, imaginative sensibilities that made "TROOP" so special. Speaking on the colorful, cartoon-inspired world he's building around his music, Tobi told us last month: "I feel like some people lose that magic when they get older. We're dealing with real shit, so I get it. But even when dealing with real shit, you've still gotta have a sense that anything can happen as if your life is a fuckin' cartoon. I really like that shit."
