The Weeknd has released the video for his new single, "Call Out My Name." The dark, moody visuals fit perfectly with the emotional song. Throughout the majority of the video, Abel is alone and walking around empty streets at night singing along to the heartbreaking song.

"Call Out My Name" debuted at No. 4  on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which is only bested by the surprise six-track album itself, My Dear Melancholy, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart last week.

The album was seemingly peppered with references to the artist's previous high-profile relationships, namely with Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez. "Call Out My Name" has a particularly spicy lyric in which it appears as though Weeknd admits that he would've given Gomez a kidney. The lyrics in question are the following:

I said I didn't feel nothing, baby, but I lied
I almost cut a piece of myself for your life
Guess I was just another pit stop
Til you made up your mind
You just wasted my time

Gomez has lupus, and she underwent a kidney transplant last year after her best friend, Francia Raísa, donated hers. Since then, a source close to Selena toldEntertainment Tonight that he "was never actually going to donate his kidney to Selena."

“To be honest, they were never as intense as he’s making it seem,” said the source. “The Weeknd was always much more concerned with his career than his relationship. Selena leaned on friends and family during the surgery more than anyone.”

Whether the Weeknd is taking some artistic liberties with his lyrics or we're all just reading way too much into one lyric in one song, the moody single is still a banger—now with an accompanying music video.
