Friday night, Kanye West released a T.I. collaboration entitled “Ye vs. The People.” The track, which premiered on Los Angeles radio station Power 106, features a political back and forth between T.I. and West, where he explains his controversial support of President Donald Trump and the rationale behind it.

“Make America great again had a negative perception/I took it wore it rocked it and gave it a new direction/I added caring empathy love and affection/And y’all simply questioning my methods,” West rhymed.

Hours after the song hit the airwaves, fans were quick to weigh in with their thoughts. As with anything Kanye-related, reactions ranged from outright praise to utter disdain for the new offering. See a few below.

There's also this idea he has about taking negative imagery and trying to spin around the meaning, and just confirmed on ye vs the people that's what he's trying to do with MAGA. he tried to do the same with the confederate flag on yeezus merch (wasn't very effective imo but...)

Does it tarnish his legacy to align himself with a racist and a racism/oppression-denier in your opinion? https://t.co/NFtEQW7jsM
