Lil Peep's Producer Hints at Posthumous Album

"It will come out when the time is right. When Peep's family approves. Just know it exists. Be patient for Gus."

It's been less than a month since Lil Peep's tragic passing, but already one of the genre-blending rapper's close collaborator is saying that we may not have heard the last of his catalogue. Smokeasac, who produced several of Peep's hits including "Benz Truck," "Hellboy," and "Awful Things," took to Twitter last week and appears to have cryptically announced a sequel to Peep's debut, Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1, which dropped in August.

Smokeasac wrote a heartfelt memorial tribute to Peep on his website, and was tweeting about unreleased music soon after his death. Peep had also been working on an album with ILoveMakonnen that remains unreleased.

The producer, who sold his first beat to Peep over the internet at 18, didn't give any indication of a release date and wrote instead, "It will come out when the time is right. When Peep's family approves. Just know it exists. Be patient for Gus."

Peep's overdose, now confirmed to have been caused by a mix of Xanax and Fentanyl, stunned both his devout fans and the rap world at large. After his passing, artists including Lil Uzi Vert and Tunji Ige tweeted about Peep's death and rap's Xanax problem.
