Jay Z Pauses Oakland Show to Invite Two-Time Cancer Survivor on Stage For Hug

"You beat cancer twice, you can do anything."

From reaching out to Kanye West to honoring the late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, Jay Z's 4:44 tour has been full of show-stopping, emotional moments, and there was another on Saturday night in Oakland. Jay stopped the show when he spotted a fan with a sign that read: "I beat cancer 2x 2 see u! I love u!!! Selfie or hug?"

Jay brought the fan, since identified as Christina Cruz, on stage where they embraced, talked, and took a photo. In 2014, Jay brought a 12-year-old fan on stage who wrote "Can I rap for you?" on a sign, so if you're going to one of the two remaining 4:44 stops in California you might want to think long and hard about whether you have anything poster-worthy to present.

It's been quite the year for Jay, who earned his 14th No. 1 album  and led the pack with eight Grammy nominations for the confessional 4:44. Watch the touching video up top and check out our feature on Jay's striking "Moonlight" video here.
