James Blake Shares Studio Version of His Gorgeous Don McLean Cover "Vincent"

Blake also dropped a performance video.

Is James Blake season approaching? Two weeks after debuting three new songs on tour, he's back with a cover of Don McLean's 1971 single "Vincent." The cover had been an occasional part of his live set, but today it sees an official studio release (along with a video which you can see above).

The song was originally written by McLean as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh, opening with a reference to his famous The Starry Night painting and describing various works throughout the rest of the track. Blake's version replaces the acoustic guitar backdrop in the original with somber piano chords and classic melancholic James Blake vocals. Listen below and continue for McLean's original.
