It's been a long time coming, but Rich the Kid has finally delivered his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar titled "New Freezer."
Rich the Kid initially got people's attention in January when he posted a message on Twitter mentioning that he was cooking something with Kendrick. "In the studio working with @kendricklamar," he wrote. In an Instagram post which has since been deleted, Rich shared a photo of him and Kendrick in the studio together with the caption, "Blessed to work wit Kendrick Lamar last nite legendary #itsontheway #forthebirds #boiyallintrouble."
When Complex reached out for a statement back then, the rapper said the two "had great chemistry together," adding that the song was titled "For the Birds," and would be on his upcoming album. The two also took a video jamming out to some music playing in the background.
The title seems to have changed at some point over the past eight months, as the track is now called "New Freezer." It appears to be the title song to Rich the Kid's upcoming album.
Rich the Kid debuted "New Freezer" on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, where the rapper talked about collaborating with the Compton native. "It was shocking just to hear Kendrick on a song with me," he said. "It feels like magic."
