The Weeknd ran into some trouble in Las Vegas over the weekend. TMZ reports that at 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the Cromwell Hotel after a fight involving The Weeknd had broken out. When police arrived on the scene, the brawl was still going on, prompting officers to attempt to break it up. During the break-up, an officer pulled The Weeknd into an elevator, but he responded by allegedly striking the cop in the head. He charged with battery of a protected person.
He made bail and left Las Vegas shortly thereafter. His Instagram post with the caption "escaped from Las Vegas" is, in context of what we know now, a bit forbidding, but appropriate nonetheless. The Weeknd has yet to speak on the incident, but we'll update the story if it develops further.
