Big things are on the way from Nas. After celebrating the 20th anniversary of Illmatic earlier this year, the legendary MC has a lot more up his sleeve. In a recent interview with Billboard, Nas officially revealed that he is launching Mass Appeal Records that will serve as an independent label for the release of his new music.

Through the label, Nas is set to release his long-awaited Lost Tapes 2 project, as well as a posthumous album from Pimp C. He is also set to drop a compilation album this summer that will feature the likes of Future, Pusha T, Mac Miller, and A$AP Mob. Sony is set to handle the distribution rights for the label moving forward. Nas had this to say about the launch of the label:

"I'm excited to be a part of creating and supporting future careers and legacy artists, promoting love and finding new genius to help the world," Nas said in an email. "I'm going to be as involved as I need to be, but I also want to be respectful of the art and give artists the space they need to grow and become themselves."
