Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of De La Soul releasing their seminal debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising. On the heels of that momentous benchmark, De La share their new record "Dilla Plugged In," which pays homage to the late great producer out of Detroit. The song is fittingly also produced by Dilla, and features his signature sound. For a beat that was likely made in the early part of this decade, it certainly hasn't lost its appeal in 2014.

"Dilla Plugged In" will be included on De La Soul's upcoming mixtape Smell The DA.I.S.Y., which will feature full production from J Dilla. The veteran rap trio plan on releasing another mixtape, Premiem Soul On The Rocks, fully produced by DJ Premier and Pete Rock. This will lead up their first album in nearly a decade, You're Welcome.
