Memphis has been a force in the hip-hop landscape, with artists such as 8Ball & MJG and Three 6 Mafia (which has gone on to spawn the successful solo career of Juicy J). But emerging from the city now is a new artist named 21, who despite the moniker is not quite there age-wise. While the youngster still has ways to go in terms of success, he shows why he has the potential to get there one day with a new song called "The Pink Bride." Over Ta-Ku's "I Miss You," 21 goes in with a flow that switches rapidly throughout. At one point, he takes a pause after every phrase, only to abruptly switch from staccato to a spoken word-esque cadence without any warning. Despite the wordiness, he allows the beat to breathe, and the vocals from the original song to shine alongside him.
