As I sip on this Marker's Mark and live out the rest of this President's Day, I'm brought back to P. Morris' DEBUT, which is due out on February 25 and is worth the hype. You can hear it in "Turtle Lounge," which feels like the funky soundtrack to your slightly-eerie childhood memories of windy nights, wind chimes, and shadow-y corners. Maybe the 45 your mom was playing was recorded in the Turtle Lounge, or you had a bunch of turtles painted on the walls of your bedroom as a five-year-old. Or maybe this just makes me want to sit in a corner and reflect on my life as a wee one. Whatever the case may be, shit like this makes me feel so much more than most of the cuts being sent to my inbox. BCMG over everything right about now.
