When listening to Danny Brown's new album Old, you might get the feeling that the Detroit rapper hit it off well with Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q when recording the songs like "Way Up Here" and "Dope Fiend Rental."

But we guess the bond went deeper than just those songs. In a recent interview with Nessa, ScHoolboy claims that Danny almost joined them on Top Dawg Entertainment.

"We wanted him, actually, we was trying to sign him," says ScHoolboy about Danny, when asked who he would add if he could add one person to Black Hippy. "I was telling my homies to sign him."

Q went on to say that Danny fits perfectly. Nessa also mentions that Kendrick Lamar also said Danny Brown would be a good fit on their team.

Too bad it didn't work out. Danny Brown is currently signed to Fool's Gold Records, which we think is a pretty good fit for him. And either way, we just hope Black Hippy and Danny Brown keep working together.
