Drake has come a long way from his days on Degrassi. With the recent release of Nothing Was The Same, the Toronto rapper has once again topped the charts (even if he failed to sell a million copies in a week like we predicted he would). But, in order to get to the top, you have to go through the trials and tribulations. It’s easy to overlook Drake’s early work since most of us were only introduced to Drake in 2009—when So Far Gone blew our minds and “Best I Ever Had” became a huge hit. But Drake actually does have a back catalog of two mixtapes. Add those tapes with So Far Gone and his three albums, and you have a discography that is starting to take shape.
Hip-hop fans love talking (and tweeting) about Drake, even if a lot of the talk is about superficial things like what he wore, who he’s dating, or how soft he is. But like he says on “5AM In Toronto,” “I'm the only nigga still known for the music.” And that’s really what matters. So just like we did with Kanye West and Jay Z, we went through Drake’s entire catalog and ranked his projects from worst to best. Thank us later…
