On The Wire, one of Carver's greatest lines was in regards to the war on drugs. He effectively said you can't call it a war, because "wars end." While DAD dones not condone taking drugs at raves, we also can't dispute the role drugs have played in dance music culture over the last four decades. Aside from education about the dangers and effects certain drugs will have on ravers, it makes perfect sense to have safe drug-testing kits available at events for people to use without repercussion. This isn't to say that drug testing of pills at raves will totally curb the number of drug-related deaths at raves, but it will definitely help stop a number of kids from taking something that could totally change (or end) their life. Canceling festivals won't change the problem; rethinking our approach to the issue of drugs will.
