Universal Music Group Chairman Lucian Grainge is the most powerful person in the music industry, according to Billboard's Power 100 list unveiled this week.
Grainge topped the list for his role in the $1.9 billion acquisition of EMI's recorded-music assets in September, according to the Billboard report. Red Light Management Founder Coran Capshaw; Sony/ATV Music Publishing CEO Martin Bandier; Live Nation Entertainment CEO Michael Rapino; and Sony Music Chairman Doug Morris round out the top five.
Interscope Geffen CEO Jimmy Iovine came in at number 10, and Arista Records founder Clive Davis came in 20th.
