Vinyl Record Sales Hit a Modern-Era High in 2012

Sales rose 17.7 percent since 2011.

The numbers are in and it looks like 2012 was yet another big year for vinyl. The format proved itself to be alive and well last year with a modern-era high of 4.6 million sold. This is a 17.7 percent rise since 2011 and it’s reportedly due mainly to rock records sold at independent retailers.
