Tech N9ne, one of the biggest independent hip-hop artists today, reached another milestone in his illustrious career. According to Soundscan, Tech’s “Caribou Lou” went certified gold, selling over 500,000 copies.
His fans or “Technicians” have shown a lot of support for the Strange Music frontman through attending his tour stops and buying his independently released albums. Without backing from a major label or strong radio promotion, “Caribou Lou” officially moved 501,503 units. It is Tech’s most popular record off his 2006 album Everready (The Religion).
“It’s a wonderful accomplishment to have a gold record,” Tech said in a press release. “My fans are the reason this happened and I can’t thank them enough. To know that they love my music and continue to support what I create is truly a beautiful thing.”
