Lauryn Hill is the latest musical act to face charges related to income taxes. The Wall Street Journal reports that she was charged with three counts of failing to file tax returns for the calendar years of 2005, 2006, and 2007. She failed to pay taxes on some $1.8 million in income for those three years. The maximum penalty for each count is a $100,000 fine and up to one year in jail. She is set to appear in court on June 29.
