Nicki Minaj's line on "Roman Reloaded" makes a lot more sense now. In the track, she raps, "Nicki pop, only thing that's pop is my endorsement opp." Nicki's music has shifted more from rap to pop, and with the change, and the success that's come with it, has come a deal with Pepsi that will have her endorsing a new beverage, appropriately called "Pop." The Young Money resident will be raking in millions off the deal.
Derek Jackson, the Glu agency chief who put the deal together, confirmed that the deal was worth seven figures. He told Forbes, “You’ll see the commercial probably in the next two months. That’ll be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called ‘Pop,’ and she’ll be the face of the brand … it’s going to be explosive.”
Nicki's not the only one with a new marketing campaign in the works. Young Money leader Lil Wayne just teamed up with Mountain Dew for #DEWeezy.
