Best Song: "On Fire"
It's been a long road to Recovery for Eminem, rife with exhaustion, drug addiction, the murder of his best friend, and a couple of so-so albums. But he soldiered through it, and we're all the better for it (save the passing of Proof, which is just a senseless tragedy any way you slice it), as evidenced by his latest. Laser focused, Recovery finds a maniacally sober Em rediscovering the wicked lyricism that propelled his early efforts, yet pushing himself outside of his comfort zone, shedding many of the juvenile conventions of his previous full-lengths and working with producers other than Dr. Dre and himself. The result is an amazingly dense, serious album that is committed to articulating Em's feelings on matters he was unable to address on his "comeback," Relapse.

fern June 28th, 2010 at 07:47 PM
i cosing this notion, wtf complex? the only weak link in the album is bria's interlude
Hunter June 30th, 2010 at 12:00 PM
Hahaha don't you mean Cece's interlude? And there were no weak links on his album
Dante June 28th, 2010 at 07:58 PM
The only weak link in that album is Drake and his "rapping."

chuckB June 28th, 2010 at 08:45 PM
honestly, I didn't like fancy too much until it switched up the beat....definitely not a "weak link" though. It would've been PERFECT if Swizz didn't have that annoying ass hook
Mook June 29th, 2010 at 01:47 PM
Swizz Beatz songs that he produce talk a while to grow on you. I never cared about On To The Next One at first until I really started listening to it. Fancy is dope...and if you didn't know Drake's producer 40 did the last like 2:30 of the song when the beat changes. 40 nice.
J-hunt da Prodigy June 29th, 2010 at 02:46 PM
On Fire sure as hell isn't the best song on Recovery, and Miss Me sure as hell ain't the best songs on Thank Me Later. Neither of those songs are even talking about sh!t. And I co-sign that fancy isn't a weak link, especially not when 40 takes over.
