LISTEN: 50 Cent "Like My Style" (2003) Complex Says: Getting shot did wonders for 50 Cent's career. Besides making his life story a gazillion times more interesting, it inadvertently changed his delivery and subsequently his rap style. Since one of the bullets hit him in the face, 50 started rapping with a bit of a southern slur. The hottest rapper in the world at the time acknowledged it on "Like My Style" off Get Rich or Die Tryin', spitting, "I'm a New Yorker but I sound southern."
