When news broke this week that former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle had been violently assaulted while serving out his 15-year prison sentence, sympathy from the general public was practically nonexistent. According to Charlamagne Tha God, that assault could have been much worse. In fact, Charlamagne told TMZ on Tuesday that he really wishes it had been.
"I loved it," said Charlamagne. "It lets me know that old school rules still apply." Adding that he "really enjoyed" hearing about Fogle’s assault, Charlamagne expressed disappointment that he wasn’t also sexually assaulted. "That’s what happens when pedophiles go to jail," the Breakfast Club co-host said. "They get beat up and sometimes they get raped. Unfortunately he didn’t get raped." According to Charlamagne, such an act should be "a daily thing" for all pedophiles in prison.
As previously reported, Fogle was reportedly assaulted by a fellow inmate at a facility in Colorado earlier this year without putting up much of a fight. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the beatdown left Fogle with a bloodied nose and a swollen face. The inmate, whose family says he simply reached a breaking point due to the high volume of sexual predators at the prison, was temporarily moved to solitary confinement following the assault of Fogle.
Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison in November of last year, though his lawyers were desperately seeking a much shorter sentence of five years. Citing an analysis by psychiatrist Dr. John Bradford, Fogle's team claims the disgraced former Subway star became "hypersexual" after famously losing a ton of weight while consuming Subway sandwiches. Fogle ultimately agreed to plead guilty to multiple charges, including possession of child pornography and traveling to pay for sexual intercourse with a minor.
