When it comes to headphones we realize there are two types of people: In-ear folks and over-ear folks. Some people enjoy the minimal bulk and heft that comes with wearing in-ear headphones, while some people prefer to have their entire ear engulfed by an ear cup. All good. We're here to help, not judge. That's why earlier this month we brought you the 10 Best In-Ear Headphones Under $100. And why today we have the 10 Best Over-Ear Headphones Under $200.

What constitutes best, you ask? To us, sick style balanced with function. We don't want a super-expensive, highly technical headphone we'd be embarrassed to rock on the train. To ensure you can have good sound without having to eat Ramen for a month, most of the choices on this list are well-under $200, but there are few picks that were just too good to leave off. Before you being trekking to class and spend all your back-to-school money, check out our picks.

Hey Kennedy - I believe they were referring to riding mass transit of some sort. They said ride, not drive.

@Ed It's "where" Everything Razer makes is overpriced and terrible, and the other two brands are too obscure for most people to have even heard of

Well I can see why some of these are up here, because they are awesome. But have these guys even heard of audio technica? I have a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50's and out of the 7 over the ear headphones i own (3 are on this list) my M50's are by far the greatest headphones i have ever owned, its flat, lows are nice and deep, not over powering and muddy like my dre beats solos. The mids are not perfect, but they are great, easily a 4/5, and the highs are nice and crisp and crystal clear. They take about 50-100 hours to burn in, but when they do, they are AMAZING! The headphones are literally indestructible, very durable. These guys need to put these cans on their heads, and then they will realize they messed up ha. And for more proof how awesome they are, check on amazon, they have 400 reviews and 4.8 rating, which is uncommon to have a high rating like that with that many reviews, these M50's are just that amazing

I own an Audio Technica ATH M50/LE too, it's the best I've used hands down. And I'm disappointed and surprised that they don't even have it on their list.

yup, agreeing with the M50s. everyone has different tastes but if you are talking about sound quality (not just pumping bass), the M50 should be here. also, i came here expecting to find "over-ear" headphones but saw a bunch of on-ear headphones. that itself makes this list iffy at best
