The online community has witnessed rise to some of the most creative and inspiring creations on Kickstarter, and this recent project by photographer David Godlis is one of the best we’ve seen. Godlis is creating a self-published book of high quality photographs taken during the heyday of New York's CBGB. Soon punk heads and photo connoisseurs alike will be able to take a nostalgia trip back in time with this in-depth and comprehensive photographic survey the '70s punk scene.

These grainy, vintage shots of the zealous rockers and electric atmosphere on the Bowery are particularly unique because Godlis took them all after dark, under natural light with no flash on his Leica 35mm camera. Relive the glory of punk rock bands like Blondie, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Ramones, Patti Smith, Richard Hell, Talking Heads, Suicide, and countless others through Godlis' never-before-seen photos.
