In the ever-changing world of fashion and street-style, jumping on a trend is risky business. You might look fly one day, and super wack the next. But you were young. You were bound to make mistakes. You wore ski goggles to the mall. You had jeans with your favorite basketball team logo on the pockets. Maybe you even rocked frosted tips for a minute (ok, that's totally inexcusable, loser). But we can look back at those times and have some laughs, right? We examined the past couple of decades to find the 50 Men's Fashion Trends That Never Should Have Happened. How many are you guilty of?

Marty McFly looked awesome in the bubble vest back in 1985.
The Real Johnson August 9th, 2011 at 08:04 AM
The bubble vest is totally appropriate for people who still say "word" and "dope" and for those who spell the word "with" as "wid."

who ever is doing this list is clearly has a thing for solJA boy.alot of these trends come from the hood(tees an du rags). This corny blogger has no business speaking on shit they only saw on tv.
Ana July 26th, 2011 at 01:34 PM
So, because something came from the hood that means that it's ok? He's right... tall tees and durags should have never been cool.
mm July 28th, 2011 at 07:04 AM
People from the hood are certainly "cooler" by any standards than middle suburbanites who write shit like this in the first place. Just saying. After all they are the source of most trends anyway- then magazines like these pick up on them.

yo yeezy was at jeezys concert last night in a sleevless hoodie. some ppl can pull certain looks off.
Mill July 26th, 2011 at 06:41 PM
A lot of these trends were stupid looking. But some of these trends like the v-necks, sleeveless hoodies, cut off t-shirts, look ok on some people. Some people can pull it off, some of them can't.

I'd love to be able to re-sell a pair of deadstock 'skate or die' dunks on ebay, they go for over $200 silly.

In all due respect, Jncos were terrible and did deserve the number one spot. However, I remember when I was in middle school, I wanted a pair so bad. But no self-respecting parent would buy those for their 13 year old son. Whenever I think of Jncos, I think of that movie Kids. Those huge ugly jeans were worn by rebellious kids that smoked cigarettes and weed, got drunk, had sex with everyone, experimented with hardcore drugs like crack, dope and coke, ran away from home, did crazy things like kill their parents and shoot up their high schools. Yes, Jncos were the epitome of the wild rebellious reckless growing up too fast youth culture of the 90's.
