Odell Beckham Jr.'s Lawyer Responds to $15 Million Assault Lawsuit

He has denied the allegations.

Odell Beckham Jr. is facing a $15 million lawsuit from a man who alleges he got beaten up at the NFL player's home.

TMZ reports that Ishmael Temple, who claimed to be a friend of Beckham Jr.'s in the suit, was invited to his home in January. The lawsuit alleges that while at the home of Beckham, the football player's bodyguard, Charles Puryear, pointed a gun to Temple and said, "I bet you've never gotten shot before."

According to Temple, Beckham laughed the incident off when he was told what went down. Temple claims that he was later punched in the head by another man. He also says that Puryear joined in and stomped him out. Temple said he blacked out and when he woke up to kicks in the face, Beckham did not order the beating to be stopped. Temple says he suffered a knee injury, two chipped front teeth, a busted lip, and damage to his ear after his earring was ripped out. He claims he's had to spend $18,000 just to fix his teeth. Temple is suing Beckham for $15 million.

Beckham denies the allegations. A statement from his lawyer Daniel Davillier reads: "Ishmael Temple has expressly acknowledged in his own lawsuit that Odell Beckham, Jr. never once touched him; and yet, Mr. Beckham is being sued for an alleged altercation that definitively did not involve him at all."

Beckham's legal team said Temple arrived to the home intoxicated and was making threats to others that were present. They say he was asked to leave and was escorted off the property. Davillier continued, “This guy claims somebody assaulted him to near death, but there’s no police report, no hospital record, no evidence of an actual injury, and he asserts that Odell is responsible. This is clearly a frivolous lawsuit. We’ll see him in court.”

Temple claims that a week before the incident, Beckham Jr.'s security crew verbally assaulted him when he went to pick up his phone after he left it at Beckham's house. He says he might have been disliked because, "as a Hollywood social event organizer, [he] knew many of the female ladies present at Beckham's residence."
