On Sunday afternoon, during what was probably the biggest NFL matchup of the week, Eagles quarterback and MVP short-lister Carson Wentz exited the game with what turned out the be a torn ACL in his left knee. Not surprisingly, Wentz is out for the rest of the season/postseason, and though backup Nick Foles kind of overcame a deficit yesterday to lead the team to victory, it is still undoubtedly a nut-shot to 11-2 Philadelphia's Super Bowl hopes. Also not surprisingly, shortly after the news about the second-year QB became official, a number of Philly fans took to Twitter to share a range of emotions: some resignation, some slight optimism, but mostly just total misery.

Here's a sampling of a mood that has to be widespread throughout eastern Pennsylvania today:

Not a good year to be an NFL star.
