On Saturday night, Carmelo Anthony returned to Madison Square Garden in New York for the first time since being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Anthony, who was on the away team as a member of the Thunder, expected today's game between the Knicks and Thunder would be emotional.
“Walking in there, it will be a little emotional,’’ Anthony said. “Being back there and running out of the other side of the tunnel, seeing people who I became close to, seeing my family who I can’t see much now because I’m in Oklahoma City, seeing my wife. Having them there is very important.”
In intros, Anthony received cheers from the crowd. The Knicks also made a tribute video, showing their appreciation for his six years with the team. You can watch it above.
According to ESPN, some fans booed Melo, but overall, it was a warm reception.
