Tiger Woods' DUI arrest over Memorial Day Weekend came out of nowhere, stunning fans and observers around the world. Details were sparse, but it's never good when someone gets charged in the middle of the night for driving under the influence, and many were quick to note how shocking his fall from grace has been.
The initial shock wore off almost immediately, however, as soon as Woods' mugshot emerged on social media. Minutes after details began to leak on Woods' arrest in Jupiter, Florida, a picture of him during the booking process hit Twitter.
As thousands of Twitter users astutely noted, Woods is not looking like he's in great shape these days. The former No. 1 golfer in the world looking like a wreck was a sad sight, but nothing is sacred on the internet. His mugshot and accompanying memes were just about the only thing you could see on social media for at least an hour on Memorial Day.
This isn't the first time an outrageous Woods picture turned social media upside down. Woods' "Mack Daddy Santa" picture was one of the more bizarre pictures to emerge in 2016, and the decline of his golf game has turned him into more meme than man these days.
It's a lot easier to joke about this picture since Woods' stupidity didn't result in bodily harm to other people, but it's tremendously sad that he's been reduced to a heinous-looking mugshot in 2017. The man who was at one point the most talented and dominant golfer in the history of the sport looks like a soulless husk, and all anyone can do is laugh at his misfortune. Here's hoping he gets his act together, for his sake and for the benefit of those around him.
