Kevin Garnett Claps Back at Charles Barkley for Calling Him 'Borderline' Hall of Famer

Watch Kevin Garnett roast Charles Barkley for referring to him as a "borderline" Hall of Famer.

Kevin Garnett isn’t a Hall of Famer right now, but he most definitely will be when 2021 rolls around. KG will be part of a HOF class that includes Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. But he’s not in the Hall just yet, so on Thursday night, Charles Barkley decided to have a little bit of fun at KG’s expense on TNT’s Inside the NBA. And while he’s still fairly new to the TNT family, KG responded by hitting Barkley with the perfect comeback.

Barkley slighted KG at one point by going around the room and naming all of the Hall of Famers that took part in Thursday night’s show. From Gary Payton to Shaquille O’Neal to himself, there was plenty of star power on the set. But when Barkley got to KG, he didn’t hesitate to let the world know that he’s not a Hall of Famer just yet. And he rubbed a little extra salt in the wound by referring to KG as a "borderline" Hall of Famer.

"Gary, you’re in the Hall of Fame. Shaq, you’re in the Hall of Fame. I’m in the Hall of Fame," he said. "Kevin, you’re a borderline Hall of Famer."

KG countered Barkley's jab by hitting him right where it hurts most. "Borderline?" KG responded. "I’m a champion, too. It’s all good. Shaq, you’re a champion. Gary, you’re a champion. You know, Chuck, you’re almost a champion. Borderline champion."

Damn, a borderline champion? That’s cold, KG! And yet, very on brand for you. Nicely played.
