After the Thunder beat the Spurs on Thursday night to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Warriors, ESPN’s Skip Bayless—who is a lifelong Spurs fan—did what he does and took a shot at the Thunder. He sent out a tweet indicating that he doesn’t think Oklahoma City will win a single game against Golden State in the next round of the NBA Playoffs:

Not sure the Thunder can win a single game against the Warriors.

— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) May 13, 2016

It didn’t come as a total shock because this is what Skip gets paid a lot of money to do. He makes ridiculous predictions like this and then stands behind them. It also wasn’t surprising because he has a contentious history with Thunder star Kevin Durant that goes back a few years now, and has included a series of shots exchanged by both sides.

Bayless is actually from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, though, so you would think he would give the Thunder a chance against the Warriors, right? At the very least, he could have given them a game! So after Bayless made his “bold” prediction about the Thunder on Twitter, the Oklahoma City Public Schools' Twitter account fired back at him:

Hey, @espn please remind @RealSkipBayless that we taught him better than this. #Thunder #NBAplayoffs #NWClassenHS

— OKC Public Schools (@OKCPS) May 13, 2016

And people seemed to enjoy the burn provided by whoever runs the Twitter account for the school district:

I approve of my tax dollars being used for this hot take

— Danny Gilliland (@DannyGilliland) May 13, 2016

Bayless didn’t respond to the tweet right away, but he did address it on ESPN First Take this morning. “My mama taught me to be honest,” he said, “and I’m just being honest. I think Golden State is much better than the Thunder. I’m sorry, OKC, but I love you.”

It’s not hard to get excited about the idea of a Warriors/Thunder playoff series. But if you needed another storyline to follow throughout it, you just got one.
