Michael Jordanmight not be into rap, but he’s apparently a big fan of Anita Baker. And according to former NBA player Roshown McLeod, MJ used to sing Anita Baker songs to his opponents while he was manhandling them on the basketball court.

McLeod appeared on the Brown and Scoop show on the Play.it podcast network today and shared some of his memories of MJ. His favorite one involved MJ singing Anita Baker to Jerry Stackhouse once in the middle of a game.

“I just remember stories of Jordan singing to guys when he was playing,” McLeod said. “His number one song was [Anita Baker’s] ‘Giving You the Best That I Got.’ I remember him singing that to Jerry Stackhouse one day and just putting on a show. It was like he had a concert going on in his own head.”

The stories about MJ trash-talking opponents are obviously legendary. But this is definitely a new wrinkle in MJ’s trash-trash legacy. You can listen to the rest of McLeod’s interview with Brown and Scoop here:
