During a match against Seth Rollins last September, Stingsuffered a serious neck injury. He was reportedly diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis later, and as a result of it, several media outlets are now reporting that Sting’s pro wrestling career is likely over.
No official announcement has been made by Sting himself, but according to sources who spoke with TMZ Sports, doctors have told the 56-year-old wrestler that getting back into the ring would be “too risky” for him. Sources have also said that Sting plans to make his retirement official next month when he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in Texas.
Of course, even if Sting does retire from wrestling, he could still make semi-regular appearances on the WWE’s various shows. But it’s unclear at this time whether or not he would be open to doing that. Stay tuned for additional details regarding his future.
