Over the course of the next few weeks, you’re going to see a lot of really sad press conferences featuring college basketball players. The NCAA Tournament starts off as an exciting event for 68 teams, but only one can win it. So there are going to be 67 teams left with tears in their eyes.

Very few of the players on those teams will be as sad as Boston College senior Dennis Clifford was after his team was eliminated from the ACC Tournament yesterday. A reporter asked Clifford to tell him the best part of his college basketball career. And after pausing for what felt like forever, Clifford settled on “Going out to eat” as his answer and was too choked up to explain further.

And why was that his answer? Well, BC finished Clifford’s senior season 0-18 in ACC play and 7-25 overall, so there weren't a whole lot of other moments that came to mind.

You can watch Clifford’s heartbreaking press conference in the clip above. It’s hard not to feel for this kid.
