ABC's now-defunct Wide World of Sports gave sports history many treasures. One of the most notable is ski jumper Vinko Bogataj, whose gnarly crash in the opening montage drove home one of sports' most memorable sayings: The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

Leave it to Charles Barkley to somehow jumble such a simple phrase. Chuck was trying to give some college basketball analysis when he delivered the following mishmash of a take: "It's very simple—the agony of win...the great thing of winning or the agony of defeat. And it, losing just sucks."

Yes, losing does suck. Good save, Chuck.
