Could the timing of this video be any worse?
Earlier today, Peyton Manningannounced his retirement from the NFL, which clears the way for Brock Osweiler to step in and be his successor next season, assuming he signs a contract with the Broncos this offseason. So at the moment, all of the headlines surrounding Osweiler should be positive ones, right? Right. But about two hours after Manning got done delivering his retirement speech, Osweiler popped up on TMZ Sports for getting involved in an altercation outside of a pizza shop in Arizona on Saturday night.
In the video above, it’s a little bit difficult to tell exactly what’s going on. But according to TMZ Sports, a group of hecklers went after Osweiler and his friends as they made their way out of the pizza shop over the weekend. One woman reportedly went after Osweiler’s wife, and he responded by pushing the woman away from her. And then, a man who was with that woman responded by pushing Osweiler in the back as he walked towards his car with a pizza in his hands. It was a tense scene that, fortunately, didn’t escalate after the man pushed Osweiler. Osweiler didn’t retaliate, and he held back the people who were with him and prevented them from starting a fight.
