That’s more than LeBron James has made in his entire career.

If you have a child, send him (or her!) out into the backyard and tell the kid to start practicing pitching immediately. It doesn’t matter if it’s dark outside! Practice, practice, PRACTICE.

We say this because David Price just signed a massive seven-year, $217 million contract with the Red Sox after spending last season with the Tigers and the Blue Jays. It's the largest contract the Red Sox have ever given to a player and, just to put it into perspective, the $217 million is about $45 million more than LeBron Jameshas made in his entire career. Or if you really want to be amazed, consider this:

David Price has averaged 32 starts since 2010. At $31M/year, each outing in a 32-start season would be worth $968,750. (h/t @ESPNStatsInfo)

So yeah, that’s a lot of money, especially when you consider that Price is 30 and will be well past his prime once the contract is over. Yikes.
