We’ve all gotten a little tired of talking about Kevin Durant’s impending free agency, so how about talking about Derrick Rose’s impending free agency instead?! Yes, he still has about two years left on his current contract, which expires in the summer of 2017, but so what? Let’s speculate!

That’s exactly what ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst did today. He appeared on Russillo & Kanell this afternoon and suggested that D-Rose is going to leave the Bulls in 2017. In fact, he believes that the breakup between the two sides has already started—and he doesn’t know how much longer the Bulls are going to hang on to Rose.

“The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun,” he said. “I don’t know how long it’s going to last. I don’t know when it’s going to be complete, but you can sort of see it. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent…His attitude has been not terrific. The comments that he made about his contract in 2017, you want to talk about being tone deaf?”

It's kind of hard to tell whether Windhorst’s comments are based solely on his own opinion or rooted in some reporting that he’s done on the Bulls. But he’s not the only one who has suggested this theory in recent weeks. You can go here to hear him talk about it.

Do you think D-Rose and the Bulls are headed for a bad breakup?
