The last time we heard David Blatt's name in the news, it was for all the wrong reasons. ESPN reporter Marc Stein published an explosive report about how LeBron James basically belittled his head coach over and over and over again during the 2015 NBA Finals. But despite their alleged frosty relationship, it seems Blatt is still a big believer in LeBron (because...duh).
Blatt is such a big believer that, during a speech that he gave in Israel earlier this week, he went as far as to compare LeBron to Moses. As in this Moses:
NBA reporter David Pick witnessed Blatt's speech and talked about it during a radio interview on Thursday.
"He said LeBron is like Moses...what he was like to the Jewish people when they left Egypt," Pick said during the interview, which you can listen to here. "He said wherever LeBron goes, people follow."
Blatt also ended his speech by making a bold prediction. He reportedly guaranteed that the Cavs are going to win a 'chip next season:
OK, OK, so maybe it's not the boldest prediction of all time. The Cavs did come within two games of winning an NBA title this season, after all. But these guarantees are almost never a good idea. Think Blatt will come to regret making it? Or will having "Moses" on his side save him?
