The Nets came thisclose to missing out on making the NBA Playoffs this season. They didn't punch their ticket to the postseason until the final day of the 2014-15 NBA regular season. And if Paul George hadn't been injured for the majority of the season, you could argue that they'd be sitting at home waiting for next season right now.

But even thought the Nets weren't that impressive this season—and even though they're likely going to get eliminated from the playoffs by the Hawks in the first round—Nets CEO Brett Yormark just used the Nets' playoff berth to take a shot at the Knicks, who are, of course, most definitely not in the playoffs this season. In an email that he sent out to Nets fans late this week, Yormark took a subtle, calculated jab at the Nets' crosstown rivals.

"We want to thank the Brooklyn community and the entire fan base for your unwavering support," he wrote. "You are instrumental in the team's success and have helped us advance to the playoffs each year we've been in the borough. Brooklyn is the only place to catch playoff basketball in New York, and we are excited to see you at Barclays Center."

Burn.

The joke may end up being on the Nets, though. Brooklyn does have the better team at the moment. But they only finished 38-44 this season, and if the Knicks select the right player in the 2015 NBA Draft this summer, the future is going to look a whole lot brighter in Manhattan than it does in BK.
