If you’re looking for point guard polish and outstanding basketball self-awareness, put Delon Wright under the microscope. Coming out of high school, poor grades forced him to enroll in community college to continue his basketball career. Two seasons of killing it at City College of San Francisco garnered scholarship offers from Gonzaga, Washington, and Saint Mary’s, but Wright chose to sign with Utah, winners of six total games in the 2012-2013 season.

He knew Utah would be the best fit for his game, and he’s enjoyed Day 1 success since stepping on campus. Almost overnight, he’s jumped from starring in community college circuits to becoming one of the nation’s best amateur players. Wright’s made first team All-Pac-12 back-to-back years, and his 15.5 win shares over that time leads the entire country. Wright’s as well-rounded of a guard as March Madness will have. He’s tall (6-5) and has range for the point guard position, allowing him to rebound, block shots, and pick-up steals at a high rate. Wright’s three-point percentage skyrocketed by 15 percent this season, making the Pac-12’s top floor general a true playmaking threat anywhere on the half-court. Enjoy watching Wright pick apart defenses for years to come.
