Last week he set a record nobody would ever want by missing the 13,418th shot of his career to become the only NBA player ever to best John Havlicek in that unenviable category. But tonight Kobe Bryant made history, the good kind of history, by hitting a bucket in the fourth quarter that made him only the fourth player in league history to hit the (otherwise arbitrary) 32,000 point milestone. The other three players on the list are (in order): Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928) and Michael Jordan (32,292).

While Kobe may need a wheelchair to match the top two names on this list, Jordan's place is in-reach which will be about the only thing Lakers fans can still look forward to in a season that's only to become more and more dismal as time goes on.

On the bright side, the team notched their second 'W' of the season tonight, meaning they only need one more to avoid becoming the first team in league history with 80 losses.
