Fresh off the firing of former head coach Dennis Allen, the Oakland Raiders are set to name Tony Sparano as their interim head coach for the remainder of the 2014-15 NFL season. Sparano, who was serving as an assistant coach for the team as well as the offensive line coach, was previously employed by the Miami Dolphins as a head coach. His record with the team was 29-31.
The report comes courtesy of ESPN's Jim Trotter, who broke the news just minutes ago.
The Raiders are planning a 2 pm presser to name Tony Sparano interim coach, according to multiple team sources.

It should be noted that Fallon Smith of CSNBayArea.com had previously reported Sparano would not be hired as the interim coach. However, Smith has since gone back on the reporting.
I just woke up to MSGs from sources saying RM is being indecisive now & Tony Sparano is back in consideration for interim position #Raiders

It appears Sparano is now the guy for the Raiders. His first job? Keeping the team from going 0-16 on the season. Honestly, in a tough AFC West, it will be harder than it sounds.
