In an epic five set battle, Novak Djokovic topped Roger Federer 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 to win the Gentlemen’s Singles title at Wimbledon.

The 27-year-old Djokovic won his second Wimbledon title, defeating Federer after a win over Rafael Nadal in 2011. It’s his ninth Major title, adding yet another trophy to an already extensive list of awards.

Federer had rallied from a match point during the fourth set, coming back to win the game and set, pushing Djokovic to the limit. He was seeking a record-setting eighth singles title, which would have broken his tie with Pete Sampras.
