Going into the offseason, the Chicago Bulls were reportedly looking to acquire a veteran scorer. Most signs pointed towards Carmelo Anthonyand rightfully so. Now, it looks like the Bulls may be going in a different direction. And his name is Arron Afflalo. Coming off posting career-high averages in points (18.2) and assists (3.4), Afflalo could be a sneaky good acquisition for a team in need of some offense.

As an added bonus, the 28-year-old, who is set to make $7.5 million next season, has only two years remaining on his contract and is eligible for an Early Termination Option (ETO) as early as next summer. Yahoo's Adrian Wojanarowski believes that the Bulls will cough up one of their first-rounders (16th and 19th) to an Orlando squad apparently looking to stack up quality draft picks with No. 4 and No. 12 selections already in their possession.

Now, of course, the question needs to be asked. Will acquiring Afflalo jeopardize their chances with getting Melo? Probably. In many cases, the Bulls were mulling over the possibility of shipping out a package deal which included a first-rounder and a player or two for Anthony. If a similar offer comes to the Magic for Arron, it may be safe to assume that the team's pursuit of Carmelo is no longer an option.
