The International Space Station Has Began Live Streaming the Earth in HD

The International Space Station is live streaming the Earth in HD on Ustream.

Well this is a million times cooler than watching some nerd talk his way though a video game. The International Space Station has began using Ustream to show off the Earth. In real-time. In HD. The feed switches between four cameras brought up last month on the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. In case you can't tell where the space station is from the stream (it's harder than you might think), you can also see where it is at any given moment right here.

Between this and The Cosmos, this is a great year for space nerds. It's intoxication to just sit and stare at the Earth, and that's without the benefit of, um, extracurriculars. Gather up some friends, some supplies, and zen out.
