This may be the worst announcement from the NFL since they started handing out fines for doing the "Dirty Bird" in the endzone. ESPN reports that, according to Superbowl committee CEO Al Kelly, tailgating has been banned at the big game set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. They site issues with limited parking and space needed for security screenings as the reasons for the new rule, but fans don't really care about logical explanations.
Kelly also announced that fans won't be able to take taxis, black cars, or their own two feet to the stadium: "Nobody's going to be dropped off by black car...You can have a black car, a green car, a white car, a red car as long as you have parking, and the car needs to stay on the premises the entire time. You cannot walk to the Super Bowl. You can get your hotel to drop you off at one of the New Jersey Transit locations or get the shuttle to take you to a Fan Express location, but you cannot walk."
The Superbowl isn't until February, but we're sure the backlash from this will be heard from now until gameday.
